"The Petersons gave the best years of their ministry to us in Uganda. They walked and lived with us, loved us, taught us to move in the Spirit and to understand sound doctrine. Uganda owes a great debt to them."

This has been a season of great joy to me as I have begun the process of writing another book. As many of you will already know we have published a book entitled IT IS STILL THE CROSS. If you have not purchased one, you can order it directly through our web site and I know you will be blessed.

So far, those who have read the book have been blessed and are "commissioning" me to produce another. I have taken the challenge, after prayer, to author another book. Here is a peek at the theme of the book.

Looking Back, Pressing Forward
Marion-2006There is a theme that has continually come to me in my past that I often refer to as "one of my great passions." This is a passion for me as well as for God's people who serve Him faithfully.

One of the greatest keys to victorious Christian living is the ability to move forward in our lives. There is also another key involved while moving forward and that is what I refer to as "looking back". Both of these keys work together to bring fruitfulness.

In my early years, I experienced the power of God moving in revival in the church where I was raised, married and sent out to ministry. I am wise enough to know revival is often a special manifestation of God's power and presence. It is then our responsibility to seek Him to maintain what He has given to us. One of the challenges we face, however, is being possessed by the "maintenance mentality". Often we become so comfortable that we fail to look forward. We fail to believe God to move again and again.

Allow me to be a voice challenging each one of us to be faithful to all God has done in our lives and churches. We also must never stop hungering for the power and presence of God. My pastor often said it this way, "Saints, be careful we do not become so familiar with God and His goodness to us that we fail to seek Him for more of His power and presence." It is following this admonition that has my heart continually seeking God for more of His power, presence, and truth.

I love to remember the past. It is the foundation I have been building on for seventy some years. However there is a passion in my heart not to only live in the past but to be hungry and thirsty for a fresh outpouring of His Spirit in the "now generation." I am not speaking of hype and just the outward manifestations. I am passionately asking God for a fresh and new outpouring of His spirit. The kind of outpouring that has been so real in the past generations. These outpourings came as the people of God hungered and thirsted after Him. Every revival in days gone by was the result of a hungering, thirsting, passionate people that were ready and willing to seek God at any cost. No sacrifice was too much. Prayer, fasting, faithful church attendance, unity of purpose and goals along with a genuine hunger for God and His presence was a reality in their lives. May we, all of us, look back to those days and meditate on them but not stop there. May we look forward with a fresh passion and believe Him for a fresh move of His Holy Spirit in our generation. We cannot create revival on our own. But we can call upon the ONE who has the power to send revival. May we find ourselves "pressing forward". Yes, blessed by our yesterdays but renewed in our passion to see revival in this generation and those that will follow us.

I will leave you with some scriptures to read. Allow the HOLY SPIRIT to give them life in your hearts as we "PRESS FORWARD"!
