Making Wise Choices

Greetings!
How often we feel the need for freedom of choice. It seems that in so many areas of life, things happen that would not have been, and are not, our choice! Often we find ourselves “victims of circumstances”. We say, "Hey, that was not my choice. I would certainly NOT have chosen that!" This email will not solve that problem. It will, I hope, remind us that we are free to make the greatest choices for our lives as well as our eternal well being.

Making Wise Choices
In order to make wise choices, we must know the circumstances that surround that choice and, more importantly, the effect it will have on our lives now and eternally.

Despite what some might say or think, God has made it plain throughout the scriptures that He is the author of free choice. Man who is made in His image was created with free choice. While this is a blessing and privilege from God to us, it places us in a place of challenge and responsibility that we must not take lightly or carelessly! When we make the choice we also must understand the consequences are ours!! That can be and is of great consequence to us and those we might influence because of our influence on their lives.

Adam and Eve had the first major choice, the "question" satan asked them was "hath God said?” Satan's desire was to cast a shadow on God's word, to cause Adam and Eve to doubt what God had said. Satan and his kingdom have not changed. It is still their passion to cause us to doubt what God has said.

Thank God for His love for His creation, for His willingness to forgive, to actually, at great "cost to Himself", make a way of escape for man's disobedience. Here we see God's love for mankind !! He loved so much that, as JOHN 3:16 states, “He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life!”

We are slightly passed the second month of 2010. There is no better time than right now to take a look at who we are and where we are, in the light of Who He is and what He has done for us!! He loves us. He gave His best for us. He paid the price for mankind's disobedience. He gave His Son that we might become His sons and daughters. Perhaps there is no better way to say this than what He said in His word. Listen to it. Meditate upon it. Believe it and accept it. "For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him shall not perish but shall have everlasting life"

Jesus "paid the price”. He bought our redemption. He made the way. He is the Way, your way, my way to God, to eternal life. Eternal life that begins with His freedom in our lives now. Please do not just think about it, believe it, embrace it. Take His gift of love as your personal entrance into His kingdom right now, even as you read these simple statements. If you have wandered away from Him, or grown cold in your heart towards Him, be restored, be renewed, be revived. Find a local church. Become involved.
