Reaching Unto the Nations
|
Love and greetings to each of you,
Marion and I continue to be blessed, challenged and thankful as we look back on our journey of 52 years of ministry together in His kingdom. God has been so good, we are blessed. Starting our journey of missions work again is not an option for us. Our hearts can be stirred again as they were in our youth. Will you let yours be stirred with ours? Lew Peterson |

| "Newness" in an old call. |
Recently I had the opportunity of reading David Shibly's book "The Missions Addiction". How my heart was stirred. As I write this letter, the tears begin - Oh, that Marion and I were 40 or 50 years younger so that we could return to Africa or some other continent declaring the greatness of the one and only true God. Oh, that the church of Jesus Christ in this season would be captivated once again by the great commission - "GO YE". This generation needs this addiction perhaps more than any other generation in history!!May things change in our cultures and generations, but we can be certain neither God nor His eternal plan will change. Listen to the words of the Lord God Almighty to His chosen ones through the lips of his servant Malachi, "I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." The heart cry of God was: return to me and I will return to you. Our God is still the only wise God. He still is the God of love and power, may His church still be the glorious and victorious church that the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. His declaration to Peter was powerful: "upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of Heaven and whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." This is amazing, God-given authority! Let us rise in faith, grasp our authority and fulfill our destiny. It is a new day, a new season; there is change all around us. However, one thing we must not try to change or WE will fail in the end! That thing is God's Holy Word!!! His word is still true. His promise, provision and power will always be the same from generation to generation! They are "new" with this day and season. Join with us and hundreds of thousands of others and declare with fresh zeal and passion, "We will not compromise, we will not change. Our faith is in our God and His Word. We will serve Him with gladness and passion. We will be His witness, His victorious servants, His Glorious Church until He comes again!" |
