"Lew and Marion have faithfully served the church for many years. Their heart for people and their faithfulness to the house of God has been exemplified in their everyday life. Their lives have been a testimony of the greatness of God. They speak from a wealth of knowledge and experience as they have served overseas on the mission field and in the church here at home."

A Psalm for Today

Greetings!
Here we are, almost half way through the year 2009. Where does time go? The 65th Psalm has been impressed upon my mind as I watch this year pass by so quickly. I would encourage each one who is reading this message to take some time to read this Psalm or, even better, commit it to memory.

Acting upon a Psalm
Psalm 65 begins with our responsibilities and then encourages us with God's faithful responses.

1. We are to praise Him, and as we do, make and keep our vows to Him. As we faithfully do this He hears, answers and provides us with His atonement.

2. The man or woman He chooses and enables to approach Him, will be "satisfied with the goodness of His house"

3. He will show forth His awesome deeds in His righteousness
4. He is the confidence of all the earth - even the far seas
5. The ends of the earth will have confidence in Him
6. Mountains are established by His strength and clothed by His power.
7 . He stills the noise of the seas and the tumult of the peoples.

8. While men fear His power or signs, He causes the morning to rejoice, or shout for joy.

9. He visits, waters and enriches the earth. He prepares and provides for the grain in abundance.

10. He waters the earth abundantly, and makes it soft with His showers, blessing it's growth.

11. He crowns every year with His goodness and abundance, the hills rejoice, the flocks frolic in the pastures, the valleys are covered with grain and shout and sing for joy.

THEREFORE THEY "Shout for joy, sing the honor of His Name, and make His praise glorious, so, come and see the works of God because He is awesome in His doing towards the sons of men"

We are so blessed. He is so faithful! May our focus be always upon Him. May we keep looking up and see Him seated at the right hand of His Father, our God!
