Love God with all your mind!


1. Satan is at work to influence the minds of God's people.  Why?  Because our minds are the path of entrance to our spirit where we connect with God, our Heavenly father!
 
The first and greatest Biblical commandment has to do with our minds.  Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind."  See also I Timothy 4:1-16.  What and how we think is extremely important!
 
2. Because of Calvary, as believers, our minds have and continually are, being renewed. The Crown of Thorns upon the head of Jesus at the time of His crucifixion was more than the action of an angry mob, it was a major part of the triumph of Calvary - the first and greatest commandment was and still is "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind."
 
Because of Calvary, because of the crown of thorns, because of the blood that covered the head of Jesus our minds are renewed, our reasoning and thoughts are able to harmonize with God's eternal purpose for his creature - mankind!

Ephesians 4:17-27 says it so clearly:  

  • The "Gentiles" walk in the vanity of their minds
  • Having their understanding darkened
  • Being alienated from the life of God
  • Through the ignorance and blindness of their hearts
  • Who have given themselves over to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness

WOW!!

However there is hope, health and victory!  We, because of Calvary, because of the Crown of Thorns crushed onto His head and His blood that flowed, we can:

  • Put off the "old man" and the deceitful lusts
  • Be renewed in our minds
  • Put on the "new man", which after God's image is created in righteousness and true holiness

The conclusion is to give yourself fully to a renewed mind.  Then you will "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you"!!

"Arise, shine for our light has come" in this new day.  Step out of yesterday's failure in our cluttered, carnal mind and into today's God given triumph for a clear, pure mind - HIS MIND!
